Seafoam SF-16 is a popular and effective solution among rotary owners to prevent and remove carbon build-up that can affect performance, especially in engines that aren’t driven daily or rarely see high RPMs.

Description

✅ How is it used in the RX-8?

Via vacuum (intake):

It is ideal for cleaning carbon from compression seals. Slowly introduce it through a vacuum line while cranking the engine without starting it.

Let it soak in for as long as possible. Before restarting, we recommend adding a small amount of IDEMITSU 10W-30 through the spark plug holes to ease the first ignition.

In the fuel tank:

Pour it directly into the tank to clean the injectors and the fuel system.

It improves fuel atomisation and helps stabilise idle.

In the engine oil:

It is useful for engines with heavy carbon or long storage periods. Add it just before an oil change to help dissolve internal deposits.

Only use this method if you’re changing the oil immediately afterwards.
